I just got home from seeing John Hodgman speak at the Borders down the street from me. It was amazing. Let me relate my experience to you.

Oh my god! That is...that is so awesome, there are no words! How can one person be that hilarious all the time? :D Ooh, and refer to my latest post for some interesting and hopefully true information about him...

Oh, and what's the Teacher's Edition?

I know! It seems impossible that he could be so hilarious. He was all like "People think they have to ask me really clever questions at these Q&As, that they have to be really funny and start up some improv comedy routine. But there's a reason I wrote a book." But he is actually funny all the time! I love him. :)

The Teachers' Edition is a new paperback edition of the book; the best part about it is that there are handwritten notes in all the margins, marking up all the text. I can't wait to read through it. :D

*echoes the OMG!*

Incredible!!!! And was that just a free thing at Borders? How long did you have to wait in line?

"ARGH, YOU HAD TO PLAY THE PALEONTOLOGIST CARD!" *ROTFLMAO!!!!*

Sara, I ask one thing of you, and one thing only: I command you to create an icon of a dinosaur, and on it shall be the holy words "NOT BIRDS!"

*still giggling*

Yeah, it was just a free reading. I didn't have to wait in line that long, I was not that far from the front.

Haha, I would, but he wasn't saying birds aren't dinosaurs (or dinosaurs aren't birds), he was saying that he hopes I find living dinosaurs besides birds. :D I think that icon may give the wrong impression, and after all "the world is round and birds are dinosaurs" :)

Well, true... How about:

Frame 1: John Hodgman

Frame 2: "I hope you find a living dinosaur!"

Frame 3: - in very small letters - "but birds are living dinosaurs"

Frame 4: "NOT BIRDS!"

Frame 5: A smiling dinosaur

*G*

I'll probably try to be there around 6:15-6:30pm (begins at 7pm)... we got there yesterday less than a half an hour before and we still got pretty good seats. It was super fun! :D

Oh yeah, and FYI if you decide to come, it's on the E.T.C. stage.

Yeesh. I am so used to Letters for Santa at the etc stage that my mental state is "MUST GET THERE AT 5 TO GAIN ACCESS FOR 10PM SHOW. MUST GET THERE EARLY BECAUSE THE WILCAS WILL GET THERE FIRST."

That being said, I will likely walk there after work, so I'll be there around 6:00 or maybe earlier.
