Well, Sunday was my last day (sort of) working at Pizza Hut. It turned out to be one of the nicest days I've had in a while. For one, the atmosphere there seemed a lot nicer than I expected and everyone seemed more livlier and cheerier that before. As I was leaving, I noticed two guys staring in my direction and caught their gaze. Of course, I always have the odd habit of staring at people in a manner that suggests that either I know them or they knnow me. Anyhoo, I just kept on walking out and sat at the bus stop. I then noticed that those same two guys were crossing the street and coming in my direction. I thought to myself, "self, these guys might want to make fun of us or pick of fight." But, um, I couldn't have been more wrong. One of the guys approached me and asked if I was me and of course me being me I confirmed that at which he replied, "well, hello, I'm Matt." Now, I know most of you won't know who Matt is and it's understandable because the only person who would really know is Jessica. Let me explain... for about two years (almost maybe) I've had an online friend named Taylor. Taylor is a junior college student, gay, and in a very loving relationship with Matt. I've had the chance to speak with Matt prior to our meeting as well. We all discussed arranging a meeting some time this month. So, there I am, in my Hendrix shirt and work pants with this feeling of total surprise and, well, I gave Matt a hug. And then I put 2 and 2 together and figured that the other guy coming towards us is my other friend Taylor, to whom I also hugged. I was almost speechless, it was such a wonderful surprise although I didn't know what to do or say. I didn't expect them to come and visit me like that but thankgoodness for LJ (makes-up with LJ) that they knew where I worked and they decided to come see me. They were two of the friendliest and nicest guy I could have meet. They asked me if I wanted to hang out ( I said "ch'yeah) and we went to the Barnes and Noble. I noticed that Taylor (whom i've talked and known more) was quiet but I know that he mentioned that he had a bit of that George Harrison quality in him. They were both really intelligent and spiritual and just really great people. We went to a Dinner after B & N closed and chatted some more and the company was getting better and better. When the night ended, I was in one of my most happiest moods (and trust me it's been a while). They even invited me to their 4th of July Vegetarian/Carnivore friendly BBQ. They picked me up and then picked up another friend of theirs, Ricky. He was really nice too. And he lives not far from me. What a trip. Anyhoo, we get to Taylor's house to which I get a liitle shy because I just do that around new people and I got to meet Taylor's family and Matt's mum and grand-mum. Everyone was just really nice. The food was great; their was cornbread and the movie Corn (which was no where near as good as the bread). It was uber-neat that I got a chance to hang out with all of them and we brought up some pretty though provoking discussions about things that might be and can be and will most likely will be and they are just so encouraging. They renewed me with a lot of hope and a lot of kindness. I hope to see them soon again (I must bring Devil's Food donuts).
And on another note, I started my nifty new job at the architect's office. I like it, I like it a lot. I have my own desk and computer and pencil and paper and, OH, I even have a little phone. It's just super-neatO. I hope that I do well and maybe I can continue with them after the summer.
Well, that's it for now. I'll write some more soon. In the mean time, peace and lurve, y'all.
p.s. Still on Prince Caspian
