last saturday amir hamza had the grave misfortune of having to go for his SYF band dress rehearsal, poor thing. which meant to my great luck i took his ticket to watch CATS: the musical with andak, ohohohoho... such a pity too, because he had been looking forward to it for at least a month, andak told me, seeing as they bought their tickets very early.
everything was amazing, as to be expected from it's history and what not, i loved the stage setting especially where everything is oversized to be in proportion to the oversized cats(of which consist of what must be some of the most self assured men to wiggle, hip thrust and dance about in spandex). the singing was fantastic but the music itself was at times the teeny tiniest bit camp, lol, though it didnt detract from the entire production. i'm guessing this is something to do with the fact Cats started in 1981 and was written by andrew llyod webber...which i will not elaborate. i swear i saw my 5 cats in most of the characters, whether in terms of looks or personality, though i doubt many of my cats could be jellicle cats, seeing as they are mostly ahem full figured, well rounded cats and are not prone to dance and sing.
although it was by chance and luck that i got to see Cats, i'm really glad i went to see it as i enjoyed myself a lot. (Thank you andak :D )
