we were at the vets again today, for a review on montello's kidney failure (he is doing much better but is still a little far from normal - he's still on a saline drip) and as per normal there were many cute pets around - cats and dogs mostly. so amongst us there was one lady and her four children, 3 girls and a boy, with the eldest i'd say no older than 7 or 8 (they had a hamster), and as pet owners are to do, they all cooed and oohed and aahed over other peoples' pets. at one point they were looking at somebody's cat and one of them exclaimed:
"i like pussy!"
which started an excited round of (very loud) agreement from the entire brood, :D :D :D :D :
"I like pussy too!"
"pussy!"
"i love pussy!"
"pussy pussy pussy~!" <3
"puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-ssyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!"
"we like pussy!"
word for word, i swear, and there was a little more after that but i've forgotten. no one laughed out loud, but i think everyone was smiling to some degree.
