Here's my obligatory winter/snow post.

Dec 21, 2008 18:37

Currently around 7-8 inches outside. As far as I know it's still falling lightly.

Yesterday was supposed to be the first Amber Pacific show since they lost Matt, and I ventured out to meet Anna at the mall and drive her up. On the way she tells me in canceled, but we get together and plan to hang out anyway. We shop a little, got Attack! Attack!, yaddayadda, and head to her apartment. We have to take a long way which is a safer, not so slippery way to get to her apartment and we're safe, but it's snowing hxc. However only 30 min pass and she's like "...........you should go home. I don't want you stuck here if I'm supposed to be leaving Monday." So I venture home. All roads, no matter what the speed limit is, I can only go about 20mph. I slip and slide a little, but manage to back track the way I came and get on the highway. Going a max of 40mph the whole way home. While I was on the freeway and in Gig Harbor, I had to stop twice to break off the ice on my wiper because it's building up and not cleaning my window, and making it harder and harder to see.

Parents suggested before I left that I take one of two hills home. One, Drummond, is steep, but has few, wide turns, and is more used and probably "better taken care of" (ie; plowed) compared to Dana, another series of hills and sharp turns with no barrier. So I take Drummond. I remember them also saying "get a speed and keep it up", but I can't go any faster then 20 on the normal road, so when I try to turn I barely have any speed to start up the hill and I do my best to get up. Unfortunately, my tires are pretty shot for traction and dad said something about the balance and grip on my hyrid that other cars don't have. So 1/4 of the way up I'm struggling to just get my car into a side road, off the main road and call parents to say "lol I can't make it up the hill come save me."

I have to wiggle my way out of the road (i was half in a ditch and was trying not to turn my car into a little metal pole and fence wire) and turn around, go back down the hill, park my car at a fire station at the base and walk up the hill. Dad manages to meet me half way and I get in his car and we make it back home.

My car is still down at the station with a box of Cranberry Bliss Bars from Starbucks that Anna forgot/then gave to me, plus a DVD she bought me as a Christmas present (With American Tail 1+2 AND Balto on two disks omgomgomg) and hopefully I'm getting it back tomorrow or day after.

Here hoping that William Control on the 28th in Seattle isn't canceled either >< that would suck.

AND ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE!

Anyone remember me posting this youtube a while ago?
