Short hair = submission/subservience anonymous March 21 2014, 04:06:41 UTC
Dunno if this has been prompted before but...I read somewhere that for Vikings, short hair was a sign of servitude and such. What about that in the Dwarrow culture and what they think about Bilbo’s short hair. Since every other culture in middle earth seems to have the males with longish hair. Is that why they were so rude??

It was also a sign of slavery/cowardice.

I would also really enjoy seeing this explored. Especially seeing as how submissive/effeminate men also had this massive stigma- would the Dwarrows assume Bilbo is, ahem, limp of wrist due to his fussy nature and shockingly short hair?

Mahal spat, they saw that most of the hobbits must be slaves or honorless, since so few of them have any decent lengths of hair.

Bofur/fem!Kíli - shaving iavalir March 21 2014, 04:47:16 UTC
Dwarves see shaving off their beards as a sign of grieving and shame. But for some, because shaving is so taboo, the act has developed a sort of sexual allure for them, but to keep with their culture's standards they never shave their partners' beards. Best to explore in areas not often exposed to the public.

Bofur and Kíli are among those who engage in the act. Nothing gets Kíli wetter than having Bofur shave her pubes. What if someone finds out? Would Bofur face consequences for "defiling" one of the royal line?

(alternatively, this can simply be the two lovebirds exploring their shared kink.)

Thorin/female dwarf - dwarven sexual customs, first time anonymous March 21 2014, 05:06:15 UTC
tl;dr: young Prince Thorin learns to pull out by having lots of sex with a married woman

Dwarves have no problems with sex outside of marriage, but they do have very strict rules about making babies - namely, pregnancy = marriage. The preferred method of getting around this (especially for royals, who can't marry just anyone they shag) is coitus interruptus, but that takes some training. And since you can't practice with someone you might have to marry, you do it with an already married dwarrowdam. Young dwarves learn to please a woman, and any accidents get claimed by her husband.

Bonuses:
- it's totally voluntary, but Thorin is encouraged to choose from women near his own rank so they not likely to feel intimidated
- the husband is often involved, at least at first, both to instruct the younger dwarf and to make sure that his wife is wet and aroused
- Thorin thinks Dwalin's mom is a MILF (and she's the appropriate rank!), but her husband scares the crap out of him.
- Dwalin freaks out. Balin pretends not to know.

Oh so interesting, Thorin's a mix of confidence and insecurity anyway...

Shamelessly begging for the bonuses-
I laughed so hard at:
Thorin thinks Dwalin's mom is a MILF (and she's the appropriate rank!), but her husband scares the crap out of him.
- Dwalin freaks out. Balin pretends not to know.

I scared the cat.

Dependent- Thranduil/Kili, h/c, angst, ducon, abuse anonymous March 21 2014, 05:58:34 UTC
I'd like a fic where Kili's married to Thranduil, but is basically still a prisoner. Whether Erebor was never reclaimed or it was and THranduil either conquered it or managed to force Kili into marrying him, Kili married Thranduil because he had to, not because he wanted to.

He's allowed freedom to move around most areas of the castle, but can't leave it without a guard. As the King's consort, he's protected, but most people know he's little more than a glorified concubine and take advantage of that fact to bully him. For this reason, Kili sticks close to Thranduil, not because he likes the King, but because he knows that they wouldn't dare harm him around THranduil. Thranduil takes full advantage of how vulnerable Kili is.

Thrones- Kili, Fili, Thorin, Durin Family feels anonymous March 21 2014, 06:02:06 UTC
I couldn't help noticing that only Thror had a throne in Erebor.

I'd like a fic where everyone survives the BOTFA and, as Erebor's being rebuilt, Thorin has thrones made for Fili and Kili, one on each side of his. They might be smaller, less elegant, or lower down, but they're thrones nonetheless, because he wants to make sure his heirs are seen as important.
