MLK weekend... One helluva weekend. Saturday was preoccupied by doing errands in Phoenix and Medford. Among other things, I spent $45 on designer wool for trousers that I am making in CC. Expensive, but I hope its worth it. I have not spent so much money in one day in a long, long time. Then Saturday night I went to Kristen's for a Welcome back Kate/Happy Belated Birthday Kate and Diedra Celebration. Much Corona was consumed followed by a great game of Cranium. In a slightly tipsy attempt to draw King Kong on the Chrysler building (how was I suppose to know it was the Empire State building?) I ended up drawing what looked like a gigantic ejaculating penis that is currently hanging above Kate's desk. It was an entertaining night. The next day was Coral Lee and Shimee's Pirate party, so I had a great time dressing up as Pirate, having fun with friends, dancing, and again, drinking. Monday was concluded by watching the third and fourth episodes of 24 (I was really excited to find out that Jean Smart is a guest star this season) with Kate while drinking Mike's. After drinking three nights in a row I think I'll stay away from the alcohol for a little bit, but not too long ;). The weekend wasn't completely partying, I did read Othello for CD and Cymbeline for fun. It was the first time I had read either play; Othello was a great read and Cymbeline is a very unusual Shakespearean play. It kind of reminded me of a Shakespearean Lord of the Rings: mythical, lyrical, theatrical, complicated plot that somehow manages to come together for a happy ending.
Today feels like a Tuesday, I'm glad its a short week!
Peace.
