Yesterday I went to see Patty from down the street and woofed to her owner. She's a Chow, and they had shaved her for the warm weather, so she had all light color fur on her body, that's her undercoat.
I went to the St. Margaret Festival last night and it was pretty packed in, but they had some decent stuff there. As I walked into the lot, the Froggy Country mascot was there and I waved to him and he gave me a high five slap, that was pretty cool! Mascots are all right, I wanted to meet Crime Dog as a younger pup, but I was afraid of Santa Claus, he was too big.
At the Festival everyone was waiting to ride the ferris wheel, there was a big long line. It was the same with the food too, and I would have waited, but I wanted to look around. They had lots of games, big wheels with nails around the outside that go click clack, but not too many folks were playing those yet. There was a DJ and pop music being played through some big speakers, and I can hear it easily across the field at my house, even though it's a block away. It's odd to be in my back yard and hear a DJ that loud echoing between the houses.
I cut a tiny patch of grass left from the night before, and then took my scooter for a little spin at the other church lot, Mount Pisgah.
Tonight I'm posting from Hobnose's old room upstairs. It's the same bedroom computer, but I set it up here on Hob's abandoned desk. When went to add the memory I got from Ridger Wolf, I decided to change the monitor too, plus use different speakers and a different desk. It had reached project status by then, something I thought was just going to take a few hours. First I cleaned the dust out of the computer, something I do at least every year, then took out the old desk and realized that the wall is going to need to be painted before I put the new desk in.
Tomorrow I thought, and I was going to write this on my laptop, but I thought it would be good to test the new monitor, an Acer with a wide screen, and it's great! The computer took memory fine and I have a half gig more to 1.5, and it's faster memory too. I don't notice a difference now, but wait until I get a dozen Firefox tabs and torrent going at the same time.. With the new monitor my electric bill should go down too, it only takes 30 watts, has to be a third of the power of my old monitor.
Tomorrow is more festival, it lasts until June 6. smosfestival.com
