Line load and neutral

Saturday afternoon Hob and Boom went for a ride on bikes, starting at the top of Glencoe this time and taking it all of the way down. Usually we take another way that winds around and takes longer. We saw Dogs being walked like a Shih-tzu and black and yellow Labs and got down to the park area of Whiskey Hollow. We went through and under the parkway, the 'Lassie Electronics Company' and came out in Carnegie. We went through the factory area, and saw two Greyhounds in a yard with a smaller Dog who was yapping, and Hobnose was fascinated with those tall pets.

Leaving we went past Sky Oxygen and I found a photo control under a street light. Photo controls are a simple switch with a photo cell that turns lights on at dusk and off at dawn, most of them using a heating element to flex a strip of metal with a switch on it. This looked like it must have burned up, and the date code was 1993, and it was laying there without a lens cover. It must have been dropped a few years ago when it was replaced with a new one.

Going up the hill toward the Hob House we found what looked like it must have been someone's Halloween candy bag, just a few wrapped cookies and candy bars, and we grabbed it and put it in my bike's basket. We also saw someone learning how to drive in the parking lot of the school, and two women in black suits walking a Dachshund.

We came back and ate, and woofed how great the trip was, and Hob tried the cookies and barked that they were as dry as a desert, but she ate them. They are small cookies that come from India, that's different. I opened up the photo control and we were looking at it inside, lots of rust, and so I got a new photo control from the basement to show the Collie and compare. This one didn't use the heated strip, it has a regular relay in it.

We turned on It's Alive, and it was a jungle zombie movie, and the professor was talking with someone from Comcast about the change to digital TV. In Mother and Urnie, Mother's head came off! We didn't really watch it though, there were other things to do.
