ok, so this'll be short and sweet, cuz I have two big test-os on Friday. And let me preface this by saying that I have no idea why I would post this on-line for the world to see. But whatever.
So aside from the fact that my hair is thinning, my back is shot to hell, and my nose bleeds every other day, last week I noticed that I had spots on my stomach. Well, idk if I can call them spots...they're more like...bumps/dry skin..idk..but at first I thought they were just bug bites *flashback to the bug entry about a week and a half ago*, so you can imagine them for yourself. But then i realized they were spreading, which yeah, kinda freaked me out. A lot. So I decide that maybe I should go to the infirmary, which if you know me decently well, is a big step for me because ironically I don't believe in doctors/medicine/etc. (really, i just mean that usually things go away by themselves, and we rely on pills and doctors entirely way too much). Anyway, I get to the doctor and I show him my spots and he starts muttering about what it could possibly be. He's like "hmm...could be a viral infection (which I realized from other people's tales of their infirmary visit, is something they always say), could be a reaction to a bug bite, maybe Staph..." And that's where I stopped listening and thinking about my nice little culture, sitting on my desk. John's gonna kill me. But yeah, i thought that was funny. You know, the fact that I could have a Staph infection. The infirmary people aren't really good at actually telling you what's wrong. But he gave me anti-biotics, so we should be good.
I probably just lost a lot of friends. BUT...for your information, cuz most people just hear "staph infection" and get scared, Staph, comes from the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, which is found all over your skin naturally. And it only becomes a problem when it enters your body through a cut or something. So, you're all just as susceptible as me. :)
Anywho, other semi-funny experience at the infirmary: I went over to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and the lady calls me over to get my stuff. These are the rules given to me:
1) Don't take the pills within two hours of going to sleep.
2) They might get stuck in your throat and cause some irritation. Follow up with copious amounts of water.
3) Don't sit or lay down for 30 minutes to an hour after taking them.
4) Don't take within 2 hours of taking vitamins or iron supplements.
5) Cover up when you go outside, they might make you photo-sensitive.
Scariest pills ever...i know.
No, but then she gets all quiet and kinda whispers "are you on any birth control?" And all I could think was "why are you whispering? I'm sure that 90% of the people who come to the infirmary are girls coming to pick up their birth control. Heck, in the minute i was waiting for you to call me over, someone came in and did just that". But what was funny was the look on her face and the surprised "oh!" she let out when I told her no. People are funny.
Anyway, this was longer and saltier than expected. Bad joke. I know. Blame the staph.
