Post Con Report

Jul 20, 2009 13:10

The worst part about an anime convention is getting home. It's very hard to get back into the routine that you had pre-con after the con. You just want to lay around and go back. Even if it was a bunch of walking around and being sore.

But without further adeau, which I spelled wrong, here's the report.

Thursday: Bob and I (here after referred to as we) drove up early in the afternoon and got our badges. We arrived around 5:30 and were home by about 9, badges were gotten at like, 7-7:30. Though there was an annoying as Hell guy with a megaphone annoying the line. Afterwards we shopped for supplies. And I'm really glad we did because I found out food will make FAST friends at the con.

Friday: We got up at around 3 and left just after 4. We got there WAY WAY early and were ready to go. Sadly, we couldn't enter through the skywalk and had to go wait in line. Which sucked. We didn't get in until like, 9:30 or later, because apparently the Convention Center staff were being jackasses. But when we finally did get in, we went and waited for the dealer's room since there was nothing else in the morning to do. The Dealer's room was fun, and we both got a few small things to start. Afterwards I Went and watched episodes 1-4 of All Cultural Catgirl Nuku Nuku. Which I greatly enjoyed. After that I went to the Artist's Alley and screwed around there. I can't remember what I did until like, 8 but I'm sure it was mostly wandering around dealer's rooms and artists alley, plus checking into the hotel. At 8:30 I went to the Kiminos: Yer Doin' It Wrong panel, and saw the proper way to wear one. It was fun and informational, but I'm still gonna do it wrong! Then I went to the Whack-A-Catgirl game, which... Despite it being very confusing at first, it was a HELL of a lot of fun. I am only sad I did not have my cat ears or I would have tried to be a part of it. After that was sleep, since I don't Rave.

Saturday: Got up early. We were going to go see the Lolita Fashion Show but the line was OMFG long. So screw that. Instead we went to the artist's alley and dealer's room to buy more crap. I basically wandered the entire time up until about 3 when we got in line for the Kanon Wakeshima concert. I gotta say. It was amazing. And that girl, when speaking in english. My brain melted from the sheer adorable. All in all I liked it. And finally got to meet some people over Pictochat. Back to the alley for a while, got a badge commissioned, she drew me all pretty. I wish I looked as good as the badge. Was going to go the Zombie Survival panel after, but I found out some friends of mine were running the artist's alley panel. So I went there instead, since they were my friends! I had a lot of fun there, and it was interesting to see the other side of the alley. I never really knew how hectic and all it was. Finishing that up I caught the end of the zombie panel, then got in line for the Hellsing panel. That girl... The host. Was DRUNK AS FUCK. It was hilarious. Good panel, too. We went back to the hotel after that and Jade caught up with me. I had seen her some on Friday but we got a chance to relax and sit there. Then we crashed.

Sunday: Got up and checked out of the hotel. Went to the Steampunk panel. That was also a lot of fun. It's a great 'fashion' style, very kitchy in my opinion. But I assumed, and was correct, a bitch to make. We didn't find anything else interesting to do, so did a last pass of art and dealer's rooms. I got a companion cube plush. Then home. If you check my page on twitter you can read back through the updates I made on my phone for a slightly more indepth and accurate report of what I did over the weekend.
