Things was my list of stuff I wanted to do this summer, and current progress (strikethroughs for the things i'm not worried about anymore):

-read. i want to get through some of the books that have been stacked on my dresser for ages.
well.. the only real reading I did was for school. read 1.5 social anth books and now I'm working on the first of two books for English... this one doesn't get a strikethrough.

-visit friends once I have my license
yup, did that many times and it was lovely. plan to continue doing so until summer ends. driving makes life so much easier.

-work out... running and getting my arms in shape for conducting XD
i’ve been getting more exercise, though not through working out. i’ve started playing tennis again, and i’ve started biking to the beach or gumbo limbo rather than driving. i’m actually kind of weirded out by the fact that i’m developing abs… because i’m not doing crunches or anything special for them. <3 my genes which evidenly give me a propensity for building up muscle.

-set up this speaker system in my room that i got for my birthday and haven't had time to deal with
nope, still haven’t done that. i did put together a shoe rack, though.

-arrange some stuff for marching band next year (a very tedious task)
haven’t been quite able to find a program that permits me to do this. i still want to though.

-find a horn instructor and practice a LOT
i have my first lesson tomorrow. while i won’t say i’ve been practicing a LOT, i’ve been practicing more than in previous summers, and band camp really helped. i've at least gotten better/more experienced, methinks.

-get most of the way done with my EE
i have over 4,000 words done from the EE course, but haven’t touched it since. i’ve reflected a bit since then, though, and i know how i’m going to make it a bit better…

-summer work (college journals, lots of school reading)
just finished “Woman at Point Zero” a few minutes ago. it was really good. i haven't done much with the college journals, so i guess i'll spend some good time on those later this week. I hear "Hour of the Star" is absolutely mind-numbingly boring, though.

-get through those video games that i still haven't gotten back to dimitar because i said i wanted to finish them... hahah
so i returned them to him, but i never finished them. i haven't had time for gaming lately. and while i love a good game of smash or mario kart, i've started to wonder why i would sit inside living in a game instead of enjoying life outside...
