Building the "Machine"

Just got done building a new computer for myself and it was a adventure. After pushing my old P4 2.4 to the edge for 7 years I felt it was time for an upgrade.

First I have to say that MSI motherboards were a real let down for me. Two RMA's because they refused to post after one successful boot into the operating system. So stay away from the MSI Platinum 750i board this thing was a nightmare.

Now EVGA that was a whole another ball game. In between RMA's I picked up a 780i board from them. Dropped in the cpu etc. and boom straight to post and into the os. I haven't looked back.

Specs:
EVGA 780i
Core 2 quad core 6600
4 gig of ram
1 terabyte HD (yeah that's right)
nvidia 8800 GT overclocked (soon to be two in SLI)

Hope this thing goes for 7 years like the last one. Though this didn't cost a arm and a leg to build and is fast.
