What is wrong with people today? Today I networked all the motor controls and monitoring equipment so that it can be monitored and you can do troubleshooting remotely. Well everything went great until for some reason the touchscreen on the liquid rheostat puked. Fine no problem right? wrong! The problems started when I noticed that the touchscreen was was trying to communicate/upload from "daveslaptop". Who the HELL is Dave. I felt like I was in a bad Cheech and Chong movie. I called the engineering firm who installed the controls and said they could just upload the controls remotely. Great I thought, I will have this done in no time and home for dinner. Four hours latter they decide to call me. Get this, the person who was helping me out with the problem had gotten on a airplane and turned my problem over to someone else. No one bothered to tell me this and to top it off they neglected to inform me that the motor would run without the control screen.
