Newhall Street I don't remember this, but it's spectacular enough to deserve a link anyway. Above New Street Station Ugly underpass, lovely lighting. I really liked that place for its incongruity. I like Birmingham, really, I do. And there's plenty of nice places and buildings there, too. But it really does feature an unusually large agglomeration of unusually ugly buildings - and I'm speaking as someone who grew up near
this, and
this, and
this (minus the trees, of course); and
this, and lived a while in a place best characterised by
this...
