Your daily Farscape vid rec

Another one by Di, whose "Love and Peace" I already recced. Di is probably the best vidder who's posting exclusively to Farscape Fantasy - most of the really great vidders seem to move to their own webspace after a while. Her latest, Jerk It Out, is another very... kinetic vid, with fast, very effective, on the beat editing. One thing Di is ( Read more... )

and thanks for the reminder, cause I'd actually forgotten about it completely. My brain's a sieve this week.

Oh, and if you're interested in FS fanvids, the vids by Birgit and kazbaby that I recced recently also aren't in your package, I think. That is, their old vids are, but not the ones I recently recced, because I only discovered those after I burned the CDs. They're a lot more spoilery than this one, obviously, but you could just download them and not watch them... ;-)

I'm all scared now that you'll be massively disappointed by FS, btw. Serves me right for pushing it so hard... :D

Did you see my post about the visit of the depressing!muse? I think Sam's going to die in 'Möglichkeitssinn', after all. :-( Or rather, he isn't - but the prospect of it happening in the not so far future will be there. Canon keeps fucking with my AU urges.

(The next two lines of dialogue following that line, btw, are going to be something along these lines:

Sam: "Just thought I should mention the elephant in the room."
Maya: "That's not an elephant, that's uncle Ted."

(Which, uhm, yes, I hope will make more sense in the fic than it does here. *g*)

Hello there! Sorry for not coming back to you earlier, but this week has been all WORK WORK WORK for me (it's my last week in the office, after all) and I won't be able to go through all my flist & messages until after Christmas.

I'm ready to give a second chance to FS after the initial disappointment (given by random episodes that I watched for a few minutes while doing other things), and this is happening mostly because of you and your recommendations. I'm not sure I'll like John Chrichton as a character, because he's too much of anAmerican hunk for my tastes (and I usually prefer skinny Brits), but this is just me being picky here, in spite of the quality of the complete product, and I don't want to miss something potentially good just because of this little detail.

As for LoM, I'm really intrigued by your idea of killing off Sam in your fic. Who cares if canon fucks with our AU urges? Exactly because they are urges, we are morally compelled to write them, otherwise these ideas could mess with our mental health!

I'm preparing a truckload of Simm-beauty for you. Will probably send it later next week, though, as soon as the Poste Italiane have finished delivering all the Christmassy stuff & cards and their workload has gone back to normal, otherwise your packet risks being lost in the mess!

Though we both seem to be technically too busy for that, anyway. *g*

No problem. I'm the queen of belated replies! ;-) I hope you get some relaxation over Christmas! It's not fun being so stressed out in the Christmas season. Well, it's not like it's much fun being stressed out *any* time. *g*

Did you see Loz's reactions in her blog a few months ago? She was quite enthusiastic, too (after skepticism in the first season)! :-)

>I'm not sure I'll like John Chrichton as a character, because he's too much of anAmerican hunk for my tastes (and I usually prefer skinny Brits)

Well, I know I've said this before, but he's not *physically* my type, either. He was the first character that really proved to me that I don't need to find a man physically attractive to, well, find him attractive. *g* Because he still isn't physically attractive to me. But he's oh so endearingly... broken. *eg*

That aside, I don't really think you need to watch Farscape with that strong a John focus. One of the joys of the show is that it has a whole bunch of vivid, believable, interesting characters. I initially went into the show with an Aeryn focus, for example, and I still think she's one of the most interesting female characters on TV. (Not to mention smokin' hot. *g* Yes, Aeryn *is* physically my type.)

>As for LoM, I'm really intrigued by your idea of killing off Sam in your fic. Who cares if canon fucks with our AU urges?

Well, I care! But the muses do what they want, not what I want, apparently. Grmpf.

>Exactly because they are urges, we are morally compelled to write them, otherwise these ideas could mess with our mental health!

Well, yeah, but why can't I be compelled to write something without death and doom for a change? I mean, I really *wanted* them to be happy in this fic. But the muses keep pushing the cancer thing to the foregrund. Stupid muses.

>I'm preparing a truckload of Simm-beauty for you. Will probably send it later next week, though, as soon as the Poste Italiane have finished delivering all the Christmassy stuff & cards and their workload has gone back to normal, otherwise your packet risks being lost in the mess!

Oooh... this will be a sore temptation to me, I sense. Maybe you should send it after I'm done with my M.A.! ;-) It might seriously sidetrack me!

(And... I so need to talk mindfic with you. I have the most insane mindfic going on in my head at the moment. *Loads* of time travel by various people in all kinds of direction, Doctor who employed as a deus ex machina to explain it, loads of angst, but also loads of happiness-of-sorts - the kind I intend to also put into Möglichkeitssinn, and damn the depressing!muse! Like the insane domestic bliss Highlander soap opera of doom I played around for about three months in 2006 in my mind, this is not something I'd ever write down (because it, too, is shameless soap opera) - but I'm having a lot of fun with it. *g*)

Yikes. I was in a hurry when I posted this, and it shows... hmpf December 20 2007, 00:32:34 UTC
... in the multitude of typos. Sorry!

Anyway, just had to add this:

The current "Sam death count" in my fic is:

Starving on the Jump Down: all about Sam dying

Round the Bend...: starts with Sam dying

Möglichkeitssinn: eventually dying of cancer

Back to the Future: ditto, though it's a utopia, so maybe I'll add a miracle cure

Miracle: eventually dying of cancer

Borderlands: starts out with Sam already dead

How to Love a Madman: not dead or dying (yet)

I sense... a bit of an obsession there.

Arrgh.

I got your CDs yesterday! YAY!!! Thank you so much for them and the card. They're lovely.
I think I'll have a FS-marathon over the holidays, and then I'll let you know what I think of this series.

In the meantime, I'm preparing something nice and Simmy for you. Can't remember what you've got already, so I'm just gonna throw in all that I have (which is A LOT). Hope you enjoy! :)

I'll let you know when I can post the lot (definitely after Christmas, possibly before New Year's Eve. Then you'll be submerged in Simm-ishness (LOL) and won't be able to live without him for a long, long time!!! Damn the man! *g*

Just so you don't have to send anything unnecessary: hmpf December 22 2007, 09:21:06 UTC
I have the first series of The Lakes and all of Men of the World. Well, and Life on Mars, but that kinda goes without saying... *g*
