Watching Rome (S1) sandwiched between Battlestar Galactica (S3) causes *really* strange mental interference. Also, desires to write *really* absurd crossovers ( Read more... )

I don't know about you, but I have a huge crush on Vorenus. And a slightly smaller one on Pullo. *grin*

Yeah, I'm a Vorenus girl, too - since yesterday. *g* hmpf May 26 2007, 00:43:04 UTC
He reminds me a bit of Sam Tyler (from Life On Mars) - obviously there are differences because they grew up in extremely different cultures, but their character type is quite similar (extremely principled and 'correct').

(Using a Sam icon here because I can only have six icons with my account type, and the Vorenus crush isn't big enough to warrant removing one of those icons and replacing it with him.)

BSG!!

My crush is totally on Starbuck. Who is yours on? Or is it a Rome character?

I meant a Rome character, yes. hmpf May 26 2007, 00:46:03 UTC
But in BSG I do crush on Starbuck, so we share that. ;-) But that's a crush I've had for years, ever since I first saw the miniseries. Katee Sackhoff is an amazing actress. I just watched 3:17, and the scene with her mother is just... wow.

I know of at least one BSG/Rome crossover, but I doubt it's the kind of thing you are looking for. *g*

Indeed, it isn't. hmpf May 26 2007, 20:29:46 UTC
Though the idea of crossing the two universes by simply letting BSG take place in our past, contemporaneously with Rome, is quite clever. Sometimes the simple solutions really are the best.

*Considers the kind of Rome/BSG cross you'd write, hides*

Where *did* you get the idea that I write terrifying stuff? After all, my stories always end up in the 'no sex' category when they get recommended at hl_recs!

(No, seriously: take a look at the story stabbim linked to and then be glad that there are people like me in the world who write stories in which there is no sex at all! Someone needs to make up for all the rampant porn in fandom! *g*)
