My Garden
Thank you for laying siege to my garden
And locking its gates with your stare.
You guarded my roses with you intricate lies
And I gave walking through all you flowers of lines that you picked just for me.
Splintering your touch that held my fragrant bouquet
Now I’m tenderly mending my vase with the tears I’ve been growing for you.
Loosely binding feelings I still carry with me
And letting them tear up the buds of my hope.
A downpour of guilt, breaking stems which bleed out my sanity,
And drowning my newly planted seeds for love.
Can’t I smother your weeds, sucking the life out of my rose?
Now you’re sunlight is gone and my flowers have wilted to dust at your feet
And you smile and turn your life to another girl’s dreams.
