...and balancing the whole thing
So...first day of classes...and I haven't had a nervous break down yet! Woot!
Seriously though, classes are going well so far. I had German today - that was an interesting experience. The first thing the prof said was that if you had any previous German experience you needed to go talk to the department head and switch into the accelerated version. So of course that's what I had to go do. Even though my last German experience was 5 years ago. The department head urged me to take the accelerated class..and then asked if it fit my schedule (because there's only one section).
I kind of lied.
Technically, I could have entered into the class. But that would have made my T-THs CRAZY. I'm sorry, but I do not want morning swim practice and then Sosc - 10 minute break - German - 10 minute break - Econ. No thank you.
I can't handle that.
So now I'm hoping and praying that I'll be cleared to remain in the intro german. All I want is an easy A...is that so much to ask for?
Swimming...yeah. We had a meeting today, and I'm now officially medically cleared! I was going to swim after the meeting, but I'm still chest coldy and the pool was set up for long course. I hate long course. It's just not fun. So I took the afternoon off. It was fine because none of the other girls actually got in the water. They all just felt like going home.
Things are finally beginning to get chill with the other members of the swim team. I think as time goes on it can only improve more. There's understandably a little bit of awkwardness between the new people and the returning ones...but hopefully things will even out in the next couple of weeks.
Assuming nothing horrible happens and I actually make it through the first week and a half of practice, I'll be issued a varsity locker and gear next week (or the week after). Wow. Varsity gear? Crazy!
