Saw 300 just a short while ago.
Am very, very very grumpy.
It was beautiful. Amazing, graphic, impressionistic, and I *liked* the slow motion effect, and it's apparent abuse.
I did not like the heavy-handed propaganda feel, or the way Sparta was constantly referred to as a "country" (hello, city-state!) and the over-all Pro-War, Pro-Bush, Pro-Patriotism feeling that the words had.
Mindful, this is my initial reaction, so... it'll probably change by morning. But still. If they haven't talked at all, if they hadn't opened their goddamn mouthes to say a single fscking thing, if there had been no words at all, I would have loved it. For fuck's sake, leave it in Greek if you wanna be stupid. But come the fuck on. I don't want my pretty-shiny-nipplefest-happy movie ruined by your questionable moral standards.

(By the by, I found it hilarious that they referred to the Athenians as "Arcadians" and called them boy-lovers when Sparta was, if memory serves, more guilty of it at that time period than Athens, at least until Sparta got its ass handed to them... but my "city-state" history is a little rusty...)
