Weekend Update

Feb 19, 2007 16:58

In the hopes of coming back to the normal world I'm trying to get back on the boat with a few of my social habits. This being one of them and let all of you wonderful people what the hell I've been up to.  Mind you the car being broken into was found this morning, so it doesn't count as the weekend update : ) So here goes...

Friday night Mike came out and we had dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. I was in the mood for burgers and the salad bar, but I have the stomach the size of a pea so it seem illogical to me to pay for both when i know I'm not going to have a fair share of either, until I found the perfect menu item. They have those mini burgers and they had an entree that was two of them with fries and the salad bar, it was perfect. I know small things....

Saturday we headed up to Noho where we caught up with Jenn who I haven't seen since December. We had lunch at Bueno(where else?) and tooled around the town for a little bit. I was hunting down a book for Gaya for her birthday party. It's a Bus Stop book, by Gomi. It's absolutely adorable and as I am who I am, every child under the age of 7 in my life MUST have one. I wouldn't be doing my fair share of bringing up these children properly without giving them this gem. Alas, I was unable to find a copy so I had to settle for Green Eggs and Ham. I know it's not really settling but it wasn't as cool at the Bus Stop book. Mind you though I've already give Gaya "Don't let the pigeon Drive the Bus" so she is getting some public transit education.

Mike and I ended up at Union Station that evening for Gaya's 2nd birthday party. I really didn't know what to expect but I was really impressed with the themed party with games and art work. It was really cute, this theme was Gaya the artist and everywhere there were her pieces of Artwork. Very impressive indeed. Mike and I had a great time, even though we nearly lost it when someone assumed we were engaged and asked us when our wedding date was. I think the expression on my face said it alone. I wished I had a picture of it. I felt bad for the lady, she was rather embarassed herself. Over all it was a fantastic dinner and we were really glad we could make it.

Afterward we got a martini at the Tunnel bar and then had a pint at the Dirty Truth. It was nice to just sit and relax.

Sunday we headed up to the mall to get a little bit of shopping done. Mike needed jeans, I needed a nice winter coat, and we both need storage for all our Christmas decorations. Mike's old cardboard box wasn't cutting it.

A very nice and productive weekend over all. : )
