RIGHT. Assorted Chapels: Everything that Daniela's mun said about Christine and more. She's a lovely blending of TOS Christine and modern independent woman. And, you know, I think all the best STXI muses are a blending of TOS and XI.
As for Christian... I think my muses still aren't entirely sure what to make of him. XD BUT he is also lovely. See? I'm awful at this critique thing. YAY I LOVE YOU.
Lena! Just. Where to even begin. She's so fantastically TOS. Just. When she's sounding like De Kelley and Mags is sounding like James Doohan, either we're doing something Very Right or else... no, no, it's Very Right. I'm really glad Christian inspired me to pick up Mags, because Mags and Lena have that Scotty and Bones BFFery down pat. And now I kind of really want to get the two of them into some Voyage Home type mischief.
As for Hikaru, I've said it before and I'll say it again - I have some kind of weird Sulu-block in my head, and for the life of me, I can never tell if Sulu - any Sulu - is being written the way he should be. But Chekov seems to like him, in spite of having to put up with being Ensign Turtle. The flow of back-and-forth banter between them seems incredibly natural.

Thank you, for all of this. It's really nice when others think the XI/TOS blending is paying off, because I do try to work with that. Especially with Christine, to keep her from just, like, going off and being crazy. I don't have to work with it for Lena, though, especially when she's threading with you, because, what the hell, they're suddenly old men. The epic BFFery must continue and mount in trouble, yes.
And, awwww, as much as your Sulu-block is sort of weird, I'm glad Chekov likes him. And, yes, their banter works very well. Thank you, in part, for that. Because, hey-looo, awesome small Russian. ♥♥

BUT YES. I think sometimes people forget that the people in XI are supposed to be able to grow into being their TOS counterparts. I mean, obviously apart from the 'verse with Scotty, I haven't played with Christine all that much, but I have thread-stalked a bit (especially because, y'know, picking up Chekov)and Christine just works, if that makes any sense. Obviously she'd be a bit more difficult to XI-ize, considering her whole one off-screen line, but I think you're doing a splendid job with her. :)
AAAAAAAAAAAAND hahaha omg Lena and Mags. Just what. I don't know why when they're together suddenly they're Kelley and Doohan, but I love it. It's all kinds of amazing.
And dude, I don't get the Sulu-block either. I can usually tell if TOS Sulu is written properly or not, because I can hear Takei's voice, but for some reason I can't mentally hear John Cho no matter how much I try. I think I just need to rewatch XI and pay closer attention to people who aren't Scotty, really. ♥

I have endless love for both that paragraph on Christine and the one of Lena and Mags. Because it means the world to me that you see good things being produced by me, because I know you've got such a good grasp of TOS and I really love and respect that about you. ♥
