true summer

Turned in grades two weeks ago tomorrow.  Have not really done much since then tho my life has been, shall we say, eventful.

Had stomach flu--bad case--from saturday I turned in grades (9th) through more or less Tuesday / Wednesday (12th - 13th)--fever of 102-103 for a couple days.  Felt barely well enough to mow public yard Wednesday, tho I paid for it big time thereafter.  New lawn tractor made things better, however.

Last night, I went with daughter Larissa and 10 other friends to midnight premiere of final Harry Potter flick.  Most in theatre dressed in  various characters' costumes; I had intended to dress as Albus Dumbledore--wizard par excellance and recently-deceased head of Hogwarts--but my vomiting and diarrhea got in the way of any serious attempts. Where's a magic stomach-settling spell when you really need it?  Enjoyed the movie without costume nevertheless--a worthy end to a stellar series of novels and films!

Sis and her partner Andrew had returned early from a Black Hills vacation with Mom and hubby to see premiere.  Son Ian will be returning within next couple hours.  Guess everyone had a great time.  It's a wonderful place to go, if you'd like suggestions for a Midlands vacation.

At the front end of a heat wave-- upper-90s plus HIGH humidity for next week or so. Any outside work I'd planned ( a whole shitload, actually) will have to be accomplished in the mornings.  Plus I will start my latest weight-loss program over the weekend; any exercise will also have to be shoehorned into the morning as well.  Good luck, chubby Bob!

Have a good weekend, yall.
