I'm sure you've heard this before, and it didn't work for me, anyway. But have you tried a different fandom? Perhaps your muse wants a change? Or possibly, there's ways you'd like to alter the canon and characters? Done enough, you have original fiction.

Something that did work for me when I was only suffering a mild block, was changing pov. Such as, perhaps from a couple of generations later?

One thing that almost worked for me, was doing an AU. At least I had fun writing the setting.

Sent with a supporting hug.

Well, considering the fact I do have a Tokyo Majin fic on indefinite hiatus, I probably should try writing for another fandom. But somehow I just can't seem to get back into my previous fandoms, which is sad. Granted, I haven't made the effort to re-kindle the fangirl fire, so I probably should re-watch the anime I love. Otherwise, I've been trying to do originals, too, but I'm just stumped. My creativity and motivation just fled completely, damn muses.

You know, I've never tried an AU, despite the fact I have two ideas, for Gundam X and Young Justice. I think I get intimated because it is like a total world-building endeavor to re-write canon history and create a setting. Plus, I get bummed when no one reads my stuff, and it's not like GX and YJ Runaways are popular. (I actually decided to re-work and meld both ideas into an original.)

That P.O.V. idea is interesting, though, by switching generations. That's definitely a change! I should try it. Thanks for the tips!! And always thank you for the support and hugs!! *hugs back*

Just on the off-chance...Have you tried Greek mythology?

Happy Spring to you!

I haven't. I really wasn't huge into Greek mythology. When I was little I loved all history and myths, but it wasn't my area of special interest. Although it was one of my favorite subjects in school, I think at most I just loved some of the movies, mainly Harry Hamlin's old Clash of the Titans. XD

Ray Harryhausen is admirable.

Ancient Greece used to be the (secular) canon for English writers. Whatever you wanted to write could be set there.

You mightn't be interested in reading the writers, and want to skip straight to a televised Greek setting, Hercules the Legendary Journey has a great website for fanfic at here
(But if you do want books, besides Mary Renault - I prefer her non-Alexander books, especially The Praise Singer and The Mask of Apollo - there's Margaret Doody's Aristotle, Detective. The series gradually falls off after the first. There's an old writer called George Baker. Also, Harry Turtledove has written a series under the name HN Turteltaub, one of his less awful efforts.)
