So taking care of and entertaining 40 kids for 9 hours a day is a bit much, but the fact that I'm not petrified to have kids of my own as a result of the last two weeks is a good sign.
Kids aside, living in a tiny harbour town up north for two weeks is good for the soul. Free room and board in a house filled with guitars, seeing Harry Potter 6 on opening night in a one-screen cinema, Mennonite ice cream, far more bubble tea and iced chai lattes than is probably healthy, bonfires, physically exhausting days and long international phone calls at night... a pretty sweet lifestyle, but probably not a sustainable one for any length of time. Kincardine is just too small. Still, it feels so good to travel a bit and get a change of scene.
But now its back to my quiet office job, my horses, and regular routine chaos. The results from my July 4th horse show have finally been posted - I won my first class, took second place in my second class, and scored the highest percentage of the whole competition. Not a bad day, for a last minute entry and the horse's first Dressage show. Next DN show with Davie is August 9th, and I'm hoping for a Debut series show later in August that I can take Solo to. My little boy is too clever and has too much energy to spend the whole summer just hanging around his pasture.
My cousin and I take possession of our apartment in Ottawa at the end of August, and then we have a week to paint, decorate, and move in before uni starts. It's kinda scary that this will be my last year of university, but I've got to grow up sometime, eh? After graduation comes my epic cross-Canada roadtrip, and then hopefully some world travel with Satoshi. Very exciting.
