This is how it works: comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation what the word means to you and why, then pass out letters to those who want to play along.

My letter was N

Nigger- Alright, I figured I had to get this one out of the way first (not sure if Danny gave me this letter purposefully but whatever). I knew nothing of the negative nature of this word until I learned about slavery in American history in the second or third grade. Before then I had heard it used by my black babysitters or my Uncle Freddy and it seemed like a term of endearment. Now that I'm older this word is still an anomaly to me. My favorite meaning for it has to be the way Chris Rock used it to explain how there are two types of black people, blacks and niggers and how every race/sex/religion has the people trying to get by and then the "niggers" whose ignorance and want to perpetuate bad stereotypes keeps the good people down. When I hear fag, red neck, bitch, wet back or any other negative term I just think of those people as the "niggers" of their group. Lots of black people get offended when this word is over used or even used by white people but my feeling with any type of negative word is that you have to keep using it until it looses all meaning. Of course if I was called a nigger by someone purposefully trying to hurt me I'd get pissed but I think that goes without saying. I also like the way Chappelle used it in the "Niggars" sketch and how Richard Pryor could say it and it sounded like poetry. Recently I find that Aaron Mc Gruder does a good job of using it in the Boondocks as well.

New- It's probably my favorite word because when I read it or hear it I just get excited and see shiny. I love it when new books, albums or movies come out, I love new episodes of my favorite shows, new car smell and new shoes (preferably new Converse).I do find it ironic that I hate change but love the new. This word also applies to this entry as it's my newest one since Nov.

Not!- It makes me think of Waynes World and how I spent 92-93 just using it to annoy people. Example: I hope George W. Bush gets a third term...NOT!

Never- A word I like to use but don't really practice. I've told my self I'd never do so many things that I have done. The funny thing is I can't really say if I regret them or not.

Nall- As in Jason Nall, a good friend I barley talk to anymore but know that I could always talk to. We saw the Deftones together before the last album came out and I couldn't think of a better person to go to that show with. Two years ago Jason was going to help me out with a movie that didn't get off the ground but hopefully I could work with him on something creative in the future.

Norm Mc Donald- Hands down the best SNL Weekend Update broadcaster. It was a travesty when he was replaced by Colin or as I call him "that irish guy that had horrible line delivery".

Nightcrawler- My favorite X-Man( next to Beast or Gambit of course) and my number one pick for when I played the O.G. X-Men video game for Sega Genesis. The odd thing is, when I was a kid I dug him because I believed in God and he was a religious mutant, now that I'm a bitter agnostic it turns out he's the son of Mystique and Satan himself. Nightcrawler has since left the church so that he could figure out who he is. Aside from how cool he looks, the teleportation power or how smart (and un-Wolverine) he is, Nightcrawler also got to bone Kitty Pride for like half a decade and that aint too shabby either.

Negative- It's sad that I still feel this way 24/7. I try to be positive but that just feels so damn fake to me. The best I could do right now is acknowledge the positive things, but I don't think I could ever get back to celebrating them.

Noble- My favorite way to describe a good person. The first time I ever heard it was when i was reading a synopsis for the old Gargoyles cartoon show it was something like "the noble Gargoyles are brought to the 20th century..."

Newman- Seinfeld's arch nemesis but also Kramer's sidekick.

That's basically it. I have no clue when my next lj entry is going to be and at first I wasn't even going to do this one but I'm glad I did.
