Just no fucking comment

From a CNN.com article about Marine testimony in a murder trial:

"Lopezromo said a procedure called "dead-checking" was routine. If Marines entered a house where a man was wounded, instead of checking to see whether he needed medical aid, they shot him to make sure he was dead, he testified.
"If somebody is worth shooting once, they're worth shooting twice," he said."

I remember when my brother came back from the Gulf War (he was a Gunner's Mate on the USS Missouri) and he told me how they followed the cams from the tele-guided missiles back in the "break room" and how they cheered when women and children were blown up.

And I remember how he started crying, after we'd talked for a long time, as he slowly began to realize what these things sound like to a "mere" civilian.
