Oh how wonderful! A story for me - and a great one, at that! I loved it, nearly laughed myself silly at parts, particularly when Duncan woke up to find he'd been rustled. Joe makes a great rustler, too!

The set up of the story was great; I love AUs, and westerns, and MacLeod fits in so well with that era. You did a fantastic job of giving the story the flavor of the period, and the way each character talked was so unique to that person and felt just so perfectly right. I loved the flow of language, particularly when Duncan was lying back and enjoying his "lessons".

But my favorite was sexy and naughty Doctor Pierce and the lessons he taught his new student. Mmm, mmm, that was fun and funny and hot, and I think I enjoyed it as much as Duncan did.

Thanks again!

Thank you for your wonderful comments! It was a really fun concept to play with, and I was happy to play in a historical AU. The seed came from an off-the-cuff mention in one of the Watcher chronicles that Methos was rumored to have spent time with Butch Cassidy. When I poked around in a few Wild Bunch sources, I stumbled across the Dr. Pierce and Joe Walker references--parts of their backgrounds dovetailed eerily with a story notion. It turns out Dr. Pierce ran a hospital in upstate New York for a time that was frequented by members of the gang, possible for treatment of certain 'social' diseases. Joe Walker was the right age, turned outlaw late in life because of a point of honor, and could have been in the War Of Northern Aggression if he'd signed up as a drummer boy.

There was a lot I threw out because it was getting in the way of the hot bits *g*.

And MacLeod just looks so good in a duster and tight jeans. Shudda had more horses, though.

Thank you!!! I'm sure Dr. Pierce has much more Shakespeare up his sleeve, and can craft a quote for many a tight spot.

This here is writing, pardner.

Walker scowled as he stirred beans heating in a small pan, and hardtack warmed on a flat rock. "Nice looking stud," he allowed reluctantly ( ... )

Thank you, AdAbsolutely, for your wonderful Beta work right down to Beyond The Last Minute! You kept me buckled down right through to the finish (in all the best metaphorical senses, that is!!!) I can honestly say the desperados would have been in desperate straits indeed, without your help. You are Queen among Betas!

You are very welcome. I love watching your stories develop. And I wouldn't be adverse to seeing what happens next. Duncan's bound to seek vengeance...

If Duncan keeps hanging out with the imaginative Dr. Pierce, he's going to be bound to a lot of things...*eg*. But yes, quid pro quo is definitely called for.

This plot and the language was faboriffic! It was so good I had to make up a new word!

I don't know why, but something about "Shudda cleent up the beans. Borrored the stud." made me laugh hysterically.

Also, restrained sex and the whole Duncan-trapped-in-his-pants thing? Guh.

Levi 501 jeans--keeping cowboys celibate for 150 years.

Rustler Joe was immense fun, and he nearly rustled the plot.
