This was simply an amazing story. So much beautiful detail about Antarctica and about Methos as a photographer, that I actually could see him taking those pictures and could feel the cold and ice. I had no idea that there was an Immortal behind everything, although I had a bad feeling about Brett, especially when he didn't join them on that last flight. I was sad when Alice died; her passion about the place really touched me. I loved the character of Christine and what MacLeod said to her about the Watchers made me nod in agreement; I'm glad she stayed to save the place she loved.

And most of all, I loved MacLeod and Methos. Their relationship is so complex and yet simple in some ways, and the give and take between them is just right. When each of them was ready to give up, telling the other to go on, the other was there to keep them going, refusing to give up. I particularly liked the end, with the book and then Methos appearing on the boat (LOL! of course Mac would have a boat!)

All in all, great story!

Oh, reading this a second time. How I love this with tears in my eyes. You have so captured my duncan and methos and how deeply they love on another. I am so very happy. I will read this story over and over. Amand_r, I am so very grateful that you have given this story to me. I am utterly gob-smacked at how wonderful it is.

I didn't give it to you. It was written for you with your requests in mind.

Well, it almost seems as if someone who knows me must have written this story with my requests in mind, and to that person who was assigned to me, I am dumbfounded with gratitude. It as if that person knows exactly what I would have wanted in a story.

and, amand_r, you gave my requests to someone with the knowledge and talent to have given me more than exactly what I wanted. Your choice of whom to assign to me was utterly brilliant. So, I thank you, thank you, thank you.

OTOH, this story may have been written by someone who knows me not at all and who simply sees these characters in a way that is similar to the way I see them and all is happy coincidence that I ended up with such a wonderful story that made me so very happy and la, la, la.

So, if i have not you to thank, mand-r, then I thank the Fates, because oh, my they were good to me this time.
