Egads! I AM DONE!
Holy crap! I can't believe it! I'm done! Officially as of a little over an hour ago, my last school day of student teaching was complete. And I also turned in everything to my supervisor that I had left to turn in... I was given my final eval by both him and my cooperating teacher, and my portfolio was finished as of Sunday... I did a marathon of grading cell transport brochures (my authentic assessment) from Monday through Wednesday night, and typed up all the assessment analyses last night (till 2 am). I got a whole whopping 3 hours of sleep, but you know what?
I'M DONE!!!!!
So, now what?
Isn't that crazy? I've been incredibly busy every day and every weekend this semester, and now I finally have nothing pressing on me to be done. Sure, I have to get an application in for substitute teaching and see about training for next term, and sure I have to get some hours in Saline cashiering again, but as far as academics go? I'm done for the year! Wow... And, here's something even more shocking...
I'M GRADUATING, AND WILL BE A CERTIFIED TEACHER!
All the hoops I've had to jump through, all the hurdles, and finally, I'm there- the finish line! I made it! But now? I will have to participate in the dreaded job search, and become real good at interviewing and selling myself. One good thing I could do to prepare might be to make some flash cards of interview questions. Maybe I'll get to work on that... soon...
As for tonight though, and the rest of the weekend? Yeah, it's party time!!!! Holiday party to go to tonight, and I'm really hoping I'm lucky this year. Working tomorrow (bleh), but Sunday, I'm free the whole entire day... and Monday, and Tuesday, and Wednesday... not Thursday, Friday or Saturday though, gotta work.
Ooh, so happy! I can't believe I'm done. I have finally, FINALLY made it! I have reached the light at the end of the tunnel! Woohoo!!!!
And my kids? They'll miss me. Especially my favorite class, 4th hour. I'll miss them all too, but I don't miss the work... I am so freaking tired!
OK, well, S will be here any minute to accompany me to the party tonight... mustn't keep my dear wardrobe-challenged sweetie waiting!!!

BTW, if anyone knows of an open teaching position for middle school science or high school biology, let me know... I'm going to have to move back home to my parents soon, unless I find a job, but I don't think that's too likely... :( And yes, this sucks BIG TIME, but there's really nothing else I can do about it until I find a full time job. Ah well...
