Dear friends,
yesterday was a difficult day for me. Arsenal was playing - and I was just a spectator. With my hamstring injury I’ll be out for the next 2 - 3 weeks. It happened in the first half of the match between Belarus and the Netherlands. What a pity, because the last weeks and months I was in good shape.
But there is some good news. The past few performances of our Belarus team have been terrific; a great 4-2 win against Albania and the 2-1-victory over the Netherlands. And suddenly in the Euro 2008 qualifying round we end up on the 4th position. A couple of weeks ago I couldn’t imagine that. This is a big success and I am happy for the team, the coach, and the whole country. For the players, this will provide great motivation for the qualifying round to the World Cup 2008 in South Africa - no matter who our opponents may be.
There is still a lot of work to do - but quite frankly, I have never been as confident concerning the future of the team. I am really looking forward to our next matches.
But first of all, I’ll work hard, to return to the Arsenal team ASAP. Playing in this team is no less fun than playing for Belarus.
See you soon and do wstretchi!
your Alex
