Challenge Two: Love Poem (or "Phage done remixed Lastrega")

Disclaimer: I don't own 'em. Don't want them. Don't know if I could live through that. Neither do you.

Thanks to Dorothy1901 and Diane who both betaed this. It's been ages since I could thank a beta. Feels like…burning. j/k

OMFG! Wow, you've done an amazing job with this. I couldn't have thought of a more perfect remix for this story. I want to run around like a mad person yelling, 'She gets it! She really gets it!' But yeah...probably I won't.

I went through absolute hell writing Thanatos, not to mention putting poor bigtitch and macgeorge1 through the wringer as well with foisting multiple versions of it on them. Some stories write themselves, but that one was pulled out kicking and screaming one word at a time. It's possibly the most difficult 1000 words I ever wrote. Which is insane, I know.

And you did great with it, in case I didn't mention that already *g*. I even take back the HOOR! comment.

Aw, thank you pumpkin.

I took your advice after the last challenge when you said I should write Kronos more often. I don't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but there it is.

See? Sometimes I give excellent advice.

Damn, that was beautiful. I love the sense of desperation and understanding that Kronos has here, the way that he can see what's gone "wrong" (?) with Methos over the years and he's trying to undo it the only way he knows how. It's always an achievement, I think, to make Kronos more than a caricature, and you do it quite well.

What I liked about Sonia's story is this whole Methosian assumption about Kronos and what he's thinking, and I tried to make what Kronos is actually thinking a bit different from Methos's assumptions. And that sentence was garbled. Bah.

Yes! I love, love the difference in assumptions and how they interlock.
The voice might not sound like scripted Kronos but the language fits the paired stories beautifully.

And the "My mistress's eyes are nothing like the sun" little section took me to weird poet Kronos places, too.

I was wondering if anyone would notice that. I know its not Kronos, but it is, sort of. Kinda.

This was fantastic. I loved every word of it and now I want to go write Kronos again.

Go! Go forth and pillage the world! Use harsh language while you're at it too.

*salutes*

Aye aye captain!

I swear, I've got a Methos/Kronos that just does NOT want to let me finish.

Is there ever a Methos/Kronos that ends well? Nay, I think not.

Great stuff! I've always sort of thought that the reason Kronos trusts Methos as far as he does is an all or nothing gambit. Kronos doesn't want to change, he wants things as they used to be. So he hunts down Methos, tries to tempt him back to the old ways, and allows him enough freedom to betray him again. Kronos wants things either back as they were or over for good. Of course the Four Horsemen together again was an impossible dream come true for Kronos and he's hoping against hope that Methos will want to stay, but I don't think he ever really believes it.

Anyway, this story really gets into the head of a Kronos that I can understand. I really like your Kronos.

I think I'd have to agree with you on this one.

I'm glad you liked it.
