The magical Black Out we all suffered from this past Saturday stemmed from a solar flare, according to famed astronomer Alberta Fancourt. She feels confident in reporting that this phenomenon is very rare and is not likely to happen again within the next few thousand years. That being said, Fancourt warns that witches and wizards might fall subject to wonky magic as the Earth recovers from the sudden burst of energy. Everyone is warned to keep on full alert and to immediately go to St. Mungo's Hospital if anything happens.
Muggle papers have been reporting a potential poisoning to explain the hallucinations reported Saturday.
Due to damage from the Black Out, the spring season for the British and Irish Quidditch league will temporarily be put on hold while stadiums are rebuilt. This has pushed the Finals Cup back another four weeks, as reported by The International Confederation of Wizards Quidditch Committee Leader Royston Idlewind.
Newly appointed Head Auror Sebastian Linney was brutally attacked during the Black Out while interrogating a prisoner at Azkaban. Auror Willem Gosford was also reported missing from the island following the attempted escapes during the brief blank period of magic. Many prisoners escaped from the prison only to fall subject to brutal kappa attacks in the waters surrounding the island. Auror Linney is expected to return to work this week.
Due to complications with rebuilding, all classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry have been cancelled for this week. Students will return to class next week.
