It normally takes me several months to remember its a new year and to stop writing the old one on all my important and unimportant documents. So far I havent screwed up yet, Im waiting for something really important like my taxes. This tax year is going to fall somewhere between not-so-bad and prison time. A family friend is an accountant and he offered to help me out so at least someone competent will be handling my taxes this year instead of the idiot who did them last year...goes by the name of ME.
I tried buying this ultra-solid Epson printer/copier/scanner directly form Epson cause its on sale big time right now with rebates but apparently my bank doesnt utilize the same transfer protocol they use so in short I CANT buy ANYTHING from them AT ALL...EVER. I ended up going around and around and finally just bought a normal printer for the Church (using the church credit card entrusted to me by Marlow...one card to RULE THEM ALL) that I will be using 90% of the time here anyway. AND it just so happens to be able to print on CD's and DVD's. SOLID. It has been decided that all sermons will now only be available on CD so we need one to print legibly on the discs since my handwriting looks like either a 4 year-olds or a suicide letter. In addition whenever we make more live musc available to people we can do something fancier than a stupid paper label. Did you know that paper labels can mess with a disc in your player causing more read errors? If you have a player built after 1979 though I doubt youll have much of a problem due to built-in error correction, but it could cause your CDR master to be rejected from a manufacturing plant. Thank you Bob Katz. I just thought you all NEEDED to know that.
So what do tax liability, disc printing and CD manufacturing all have in common? They are all factors in the timline between now and when I become the number one mastering engineer in the southeast. The only prohibitive one is the tax liability (see JAIL TIME, above). If I end up owing thousands, which is possible, since until W signed for some tax breaks late last year being even slightly self-employed is an automatic limb-removal.
BTW Im driving to FL Saturday morning. EARLY, with little to no sleep before hand. I cant sleep before a long trip, too wired. I am going to attempt to drive as far and dangerous of a distance as I can in one shot. I have made a 20 hour drive in one shot a few times before, including one instance with Sam where both of us were ill, me severely at the time, him severely later. It was in the dead of night through Ohio sniper territory in light-to-heavy snow fall. Im a very old man now and I dont see myslef doing that ever again, but I wanna get the vast majority out of the way, cuz its BORING down 95. I could do the Atlanta detour but I believe it takes the same ammount of time and adds mileage. I dont exactly recall but theres something about it that makes it completely un-beneficial in any way.
This last part is for THE MAN...if you come lookin for me for tax evasion Im gonna run to ECUADOR. You wont find me anywhere else but ECUADOR. I swear this is not just a rouse to throw you off, I really will be in ECUADOR...hehehe.
