tie a ribbon on it

Hi! It's my seven year LJ anniversary today! And probably the first time I remember to note the date when it passes by. I usually notice it a few weeks later and shrug. This year, I AM ON TOP OF THINGS! :D

Anyway, I got tagged for this on by donnagirl on Facebook, but I thought since I've made so many new friends lately, I'd transfer it over here instead. Also because I don't know how to post notes on Facebook. Because I only bother with Facebook on my phone.

1. French is my first language. I started learning English when I was four.

2. My cat, Cosmo, weighs 23 pounds, and it totally fits him, okay?

3. I am double-jointed, which sometimes causes my toes, hips and shoulders to dislocate slightly. Which sucks and makes me cranky.

4. I hate Glenn Close. Don't know why, just can't stand the sight or sound of her.

5. When I was a kid, I had a completely inappropriate crush on Dean Stockwell, aka Al from Quantum Leap.

6. I don't know how to drive. I am easily distracted and don't think driving and me would be a good mix. Despite this, I am planning on learning this year.

7. I worked in a videostore for nine years and I still haven't seen Schindler's List.

8. I once got left behind during a fifth grade field trip to Rideau Hall (the residence of Canada's Governor General). It was a hugely traumatising event in my life.

9. Steve Martin is my all-time favourite writer.

10. I have a pretty big black & grey tattoo of a lotus flower between my shoulder blades.

11. Actually, I am thinking my next tat should be this quote from Steve Martin's The Pleasure of my Company: "Sit quietly and you will resurrect."

12. Angela Robinson, director of D.E.B.S. and Herbie: Fully Loaded, is one of my favourite directors. Yes, I'm serious.

13. I once injured myself masturbating.

14. I think cruises are the stupidest idea ever, and that getting off a boat for 8 or 10 hours someplace only to get right back on is to cheapen the experience and miss the point of going there in the first place completely.

15. I have seen every episode of Gilmore Girls mulitple times and can quote from the series at length. I also like to have it on while I'm writing, I find it gives my dialogue more punch. Which might be cheating.

16. My CÉGEP (college) Arts thesis was on abstract photography.

17. If I had my own show, it would be a cooking show. I would drink and babble and approximate measurements and make a mess. It would be awesome.

18. In film school, I did sound for a short doc about a guy who paints on people's naked bodies. This involved spending an entire day surrounded by many, many naked chicks.

19. When I was a kid, I used to wait until my parents fell asleep, then switch my light back on and read until dawn. I have always been a poster child for sleep deprivation.

20. I spent three years of my life following the band Moxy Fruvous around from show to show. It caused me to fail a semester of gym in CÉGEP, because the class was on Friday afternoon and I was never there. Worth it, though!

21. My mother and her mother have both had a brain aneurysm burst.

22. I auditioned for Canadian Idol last April and all I got was a fall down the stairs and a sprained ligament that took nearly 8 months to heal. Also worth it, though!

23. Once, on a trip to Greece, I had to retrace an entire day's steps in a small rural village looking for a ring my friend was convinced she'd dropped somewhere. No one spoke French or English, so I exhausted myself with hand signals, to no avail. At the end of the trip, she found the ring in the bottom her backpack.

24. I once accidentally ingested a spoonful of Sea Monkeys.

25. I am a horror film nut and I love gross and disturbing and scary things. However, I am deeply bothered by broken bones in movies and television. I don't even have to see them, just the sound or even the idea is enough to nauseate me.
