A collection of random points:

- This pyramid-scheme loving regular of mine gave us all pirated copies of "The Secret", that movie Oprah's been touting and that people have been begging for like starved chihuahuas. I gave in to the curiosity and watched, and it gave me a hell of a headache. Aside from the obvious ick of its inherent crystal-clutchy hippie-dippiness, it is just chock full of wrongheadedness on so many levels.

Here's a little synopsis for you: Feeling good makes you feel good! NOW THAT I'VE TOLD YOU THAT I TOTALLY HAVE TO KILL YOU OMG.

My favourite part? How it completely casts aside Darwinism with a jolly, "Nothing in nature is ever a struggle. Does grass struggle to grow?"

Ugh. The only reason I still have two eyes is that there were no plastic forks handy. The thing is, I do believe in a somewhat harmonious universe that presents one with what one needs and can be playful and synchronicitous... donnagirl and I have been having these conversations for years, and this movie? Was everything I've never wanted to hear in any of those conversations.

- I refuse to talk about my empathy issues. I need to write that here because I keep trying to type about it and it's coming out hilariously weird, like you're all going to have to commit me and I'll spend the rest of my life growing hydroponic tomatoes in a padded greenhouse with fingerpaintings on the door. The end.

- So, did anyone watch anything other than Jensen's bit of that Kimmel episode? Because if so, you may have missed Rosie Perez talking about "The Pineapple Express". Let me summarize: Seth Rogen and James Franco. FRANCO AND ROGEN. TOGETHER AGAIN. Playing stoners again, too. Rogen wrote the screenplay. YOU GUYS.

- Amazing Race tonight, and on the one hand, I have to keep watching because, well, it's a fandom on its own now, lemme tell you. Heh. Plus, I want to see those bitches fall on their asses some more and talk in those asshole accents like it'll make the natives understand them. And Joyce's face in the preview when she saw the rat was sweet - I guess they're my team now. But. Sigh.

amazing race, film
