The last year-and-a-bit has gone well for me.
Just going to re-cap the bit leading up to Rae, and 'till now.
I ended up finishing my year up at Fanshawe, and my marks fucking rocked. I hitchhiked to AN again, catching rides with a god-fearing left-wing Turkish trucker delivering flowers, and a conservative gay man in a long-term relationship. I hung out with Rae, who I've known from too many places for too long. And christ goddamned did we hit it off. I ended up crashing at her place for a night. We cuddled all night. I tried to hitch-hike back, failed, I couldn't even get out of Toronto. Rae suggested I stay.
So I got myself a part-time job at a bookstore, and poked around UoT. I found the campus to my liking. And they found my marks to theirs. I applied to UoT, and got myself a fancy Academic Award. I was offered those two magic words - full ride - from this little podunk University in northern Ontario, but she's here, and I can be with her so long as I'm willing to work hard and earn cash. And I've never shied from hard work. I've had to transition from one bookstore to another, but the job appeals - I get to lift big manly boxes, and read books, and be personable. Too perfect.
I've become powerful over the last year and a bit. I've become studious, charismatic and thorough. I'm treating my body a hell of a lot better, and engaging more with the world. I've also found ways to curb a lot of my worst habits. And I'm loved. Almost a year and a half of living together. She's looking for animation jobs outside Toronto, right now, in cities that can be gotten to through the GO Transit lines. Here's hoping she finds one - I'd love to take the train in every morning before class.
Life is fucking exciting. And now I'm going to stop procrastinating and finish up my notes for today's history test.
Forgot to mention - I'm also a crappy lead singer for an awesome band. Everyone involved is more talented than me, and that's the way I like it.
