Last time, George and Jan had a daughter named Marianne. George then caught his wife cheating on him with Ben Long and kicked her out of the house. He married Marisa Bendett and later decided to
seriously creep me out, which I've decided to blame on my crazy naming theme that most likely no one would ever figure out. You see, George is named after... Oh, nevermind.
We start out this edition of the Gissing Legacy with little Marianne's childhood birthday.
Marisa: You look so much bigger!
Marianne: So do you.
Looks like Marianne is a little pirate. (She pillaged her hair from RaonSims. Arr!)
In the next room, Marisa goes into labor.
George: Another baby?
I should never have kissed her.
This is where my naming theme comes back to bite me. Generation two is named for characters in Sense and Sensibility. I named the firstborn Marianne because I only planned on one girl. Anyway, Marisa had another girl. I dubbed her Elinor and proceeded to confuse the two from then on out, because Elinor should be older. She got Marisa's eyes and George's hair.
George: Yay, a baby! *goes insane*
Welcome to the world of a romance sim, George. Finally.
Please tell me you're not practicing your woohoo dance, Marianne.
Marianne looks like a little like Haley Joel Osment.
That's a much more appropriate way to bond with your daughter.
Marianne, I love you and your musical muffins.
Why, thank you!
This was her first ever muffin. She didn't have any cooking points and only managed to burn one muffin in her entire childhood.
I'm starting to think George has superpowers that he's hiding from me.
See what I mean?
Marianne found this little boy (Orlando Bertino?) walking by the house.
He was talking about her mother and Ben Long.
So she killed him.
Just kidding...
He killed her.
Promotion...? Probably. He's always so excited about them, can't you tell?
Marianne, don't do that. Please.
Don't be so hard on yourself, kid. It's your first day. Hang on... You go to school barefoot?
Oh, look, it's Elinor's birthday! I didn't forget about her. Not at all...
This stupid unflattened lot is seriously hindering my picture taking. She's cute anyway.
I love you!
George is still his autonomous-leap-into-arms self.
Marianne: You'd look really good in a hat.
George: I know, I love hats! *plus*
Remember the time that we...
I'd take that as a yes.
There you go, love.
I've got to go tell everyone!
Hey, guys, look! I got an A! Woot!
Looks like George has gotten over his, er... problem.
First legacy fire, courtesy of Marisa. Note the unburnt muffin in the background. Luckily, they had a smoke alarm and the fireman came and put it out.
Thanks, Jan!
How to Exterminate Roaches, by George Gissing:
1. Spray
2. Stomp
3. Sob
4. Scoop
Marisa came home from work and got Marianne-thousand aspiration points.
STOP IT.
Awwww.
I forgot about her again and it's Elinor's birthday!
What's wrong, George?
My daughter grew up and there's a creepy stalker-man staring at her.
It's half-sister bonding time!
Da-aad! We're trying to bond here!
And now a montage of mornings in the Gissing girls' bedroom:
Marianne: Do you mind? Your plumb-bob is too bright.
Well, since I'm up...
She has ten neat points.
Marianne: Don't worry, it's just your first day.
My children are beating each other with pillows, aren't they?
Yep.
George: That might not be the wisest place to do your homework, sweetie.
Elinor: What's wrong with it?
Well, at least you didn't set the kitchen on fire.
Marianne: My sister's an annoying little bugger.
None of this is earning you any heir points, Elinor.
Birthday time!
I actually have hips now.
Sometimes I forget these two aren't mother and daughter.
Jan doesn't want to let me forget, however.
I have Marianne go out for some real mother-daughter bonding (with George standing guard).
Marisa and Elinor aren't too happy about it.
Marianne: You know my step-mother?
She set the kitchen on fire!
She also likes bathing in the outdoor tub.
Next time on the Gissings, Elinor grows up, Marianne farts bubbles and George brings someone home from work with a name I simply cannot pass up for my 2nd generation naming theme.
