Thanksgiving in Denver

Nov 25, 2010 14:01

- So my brothers live in a kinda sweet house that's in the Denver ghetto.  Needless to say, I do not go for walks around the neighborhood like I normally might.  The house is actually really cool though.  Rande & Timothy live here with Timothy's girlfriend, Jammie, and their friend Carson, who is a member of the band for which Rande does the sound.  Only thing I don't like are the low ceilings upstairs, where I have been camping out (i.e. sleeping on a blow-up mattress on the floor).  Low ceilings + 1,88m tall Ky = sore head.

- I flew here from snow-swept Eastern Washington, lucky to make it out of the airport (only a 2 hour delay).  Here in Denver, however, it has been sunny every day and a good 30 degrees warmer, minimum.  Of course, 30 degrees warmer than 5 degrees, is really only 35 degrees, but some days have been much warmer than that.

- We went ice skating last night at this huge indoor rink.  I bought brand new skates yesterday, so I got them sharpened & tested them out.  I was a little more wobbly on them than I have been on rental skates recently, but I'm sure they just take getting used to.  Practice!

- I'm really excited for all the food tonight! It's Thanksgiving, in case you weren't sure.  Sweet potato casserole & green bean casserole are the particular highlights that I'm looking forward to.
