Looking back at my life as it was then and seeing the way it is now, really makes a man think.
Just a few days over 4 years now since I have seen the shores of Denmark. 4 years! I can hardly believe it. I am still keeping up with my Danish to this day, and I do not plan to ever forget it. I'm not as good of a speaker as I once was, of course, but that just comes with lack of daily usage. 4 years ago, I was a confused 17-year-old, angry with my parents, angry that I had to return to America, and living with my brothers in Boulder, Colorado.
1 year ago, I was an avid rower for WSU. I lived and breathed the sport. I was also ridiculously in love with someone & spent the entire summer pining for his return. What a huge waste of time and feelings for a year and a half. Needless to say, I am no longer remotely in love with him and I finally see who he really is.
Today, I am a lifeguard, I have an apartment, and I am in love with someone who reciprocates my feelings and is amazingly good to me. It's just so different from where I was at mentally and emotionally 1 year ago. Makes a man think. Where will I be 1 year from now?
