State of the HJ

I brought a book to the polls with me this morning, so if the line was long, I could read while I waited. Apparently, though, the polls are equally as affected by reverse psychology as any other non-sentient thing which is really chance, and I had practically no wait.

Our ballots are little fill-in-the-bubble sheets, like the scantrons that we had in high school. In fact, it kind of felt like high school, as everyone else at the polling location seemed to know one another so my voting was done to the buzzing background sounds of inane chatter. All we needed was that one dude who has no clue how to manage his B.O. and someone to have some sort of meltdown over the answer form (I went to a college prep school, so there was always some poor fool who had a panic attack during big tests, and obviously the only test the Presidential election could be likened to would be final exams).

Best friend and her boyfriend are in town. That has been nice. I think I have talked more in the past three days than I have in the entire month of October, not counting the day I hung out with hradzka (who, by the way, has a hilarious entry on how the Batclan would vote). Which, honestly, isn't a lot or anything. I'm pretty quiet.

She leaves tomorrow morning. This does not make me overly happy. Four days when you haven't seen your best friend since early May is not nearly enough.

In other news, I had a simply rad plot bunny pop up the other day for nwhepcat's birthday ficathon. The Twins is officially on hold until either I finish that story or November 12th.

That's about it. Peace out, my homie list.
