This is Connor/Dawn how I like it.
Confusion and angst. Questions of identity and meaning and existential pondering. They trust one another, but worry about whether they can trust their self. There's pain and sadness and all of it comes together perfectly.
Like Xander/Faith, this is a pairing that requires a lot of work to get them together. A writer can just slap them together, but the larger questions just don't go away. It takes effort to get past all of that, especially in a short story. This does it.
seldear is a writer I've never read before, but I will definitely read more soon. This story was originally rec'ed by
dodyskin, and I'd like to thank her for it.
