10 Things Meme
Ten things that make me happy. Meme gakked from a lot of people. A lot harder than I thought it would be.
- Plot bunnies. That moment when you get an idea and you can feel the pieces of the story sliding and clicking into place is just great. I always get a rush of excitement out of that.
- A story with a plot twist that truly surprises me. This is very rare -- when you combine someone with OCD, a vivid imagination, and the tendency to over-think everything, usually most plot twists were already thought of. But sometimes, something catches me by surprise, and it's great.
- Action films that aren't mindless. Just because something blows up doesn't mean we don't need a plot. It is possible to combine action and intelligence.
- The way a girl's hair smells right after she's washed it. Girl smells are great, this mysterious olfactory power they just have. It doesn't matter if we shower using the same products, she will smell better. I suppose science might be able to explain this somehow, but it's beyond my abilities.
- Cold weather. I live in Florida, so I do not get this all that often. I like the cold. I like long sleeves and scarves and coats and hats.
- Buying presents. I am not good at receiving things -- way too self-conscious -- but I like to give things to people. It's fun.
- Talking about fandom with friends. Seems really simple and such, but it's pretty awesome anyway.
- Indoor plumbing. I went to a third-world country last Christmas and New Years. This is really important to me, now.
- Meeting LJ friends in real life.
- A good stretch. Yeah, I'm really reaching for happy things now. But, seriously, that feeling you get when you wake up and you stretch and you just feel guh, that's happy, right? Right?
