Everybody's gone surfing!
Well, I'm not dead. Had a good Christmas, etc. More on that later, but first: greetings from sunny Florida! I'm here chilling in the styling condo of one canis_m, sl0ring her on SGA while she sl0res me on the new Dr. Who. We've hit the beach, drunk mai tais, and generally lazed around on our butts for two days. But while we've been maxin' and relaxin', some of our little friends who accompanied us have been quite busy! In fact, Mulder and Scully had quite the adventure just the other day...
On a beautiful sunny day in South Florida, Mulder and Scully have decided to take a break from tracking down mutants, serial killers, and mutant serial killers. So they rent a scooter and go for a joyride.
Tooling along the beach, Mulder spots a perfect place to park. "Over there, Scully!"
Grabbing his surfboard, Mulder charges for the breakers. Scully warns him to be careful, as Mulder lets out a gleeful "Cowabungaaaaa!"
Soon Mulder is hanging ten like a big kahuna. He's shooting the curl, riding giants with the best of them!
Riding the waves, skimming over the surface of the sea, Mulder feels truly free. Free! Free as the gulls that cruise above him, free as the fish that swim below him, free as the---
AUGH! WIPEOUT! Suddenly, Mulder takes a header into the surf!
Back on the beach, Scully watches with horror as Mulder goes under. Acting quickly, she summons the local lifeguard, Beach Belle. "Help me, Beach Belle, you're my only hope!"
Without thought of the peril to herself, Beach Belle dons her flippers and plunges into the sea! Quickly, she locates Mulder floundering in the surf, and wraps her long tail around him. With Mulder clinging to this luxurious life preserver, she hauls him back to the shore.
Once Mulder is safely back on dry land, Scully makes sure he's okay before laying into him. "Mulder, you're nuts! You could have been killed!"
When all is said and done, the agents decide to leave the surfing to the experts. Mulder bequeaths his surfboard to Beach Belle, his rescuer, and she heads out to catch a few waves. As they drive away and Mulder waves goodbye to their new friend, he can't help but wonder what awaits them next!
