Weak is the New Strong

"Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him. With that, one of Jesus' companions (believed to be Peter) reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear. 'Put your sword back in its place,' Jesus said to him, 'for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.'"     -Matthew 26:50-52 ( Read more... )

Hey Matt. Sometimes I get on tangents when I'm online not up to much, and I somehow stumbled across reading this today. I'm glad I did. You said you like for people to leave comments, so (as random as it may be) I decided I would. I love this passage you wrote. It has a lot of insight. Rarely do I see the reasons that God leads me to certain sites online when I go randomly to different friend's sites on myspace or facebook, but today I saw clearly why he wanted me to read this. Pride is something that I struggle with as well. (I don't know if it still is the same for you, since this was dated way back in October...but oh well.)
"Strength is not in the things you can do, but through Him it is in all of the things you can't do." Umm, Matt...that's awesome. It's strong and so true. It makes sense especially because I'm struggling with my pride and am able to understand the importance of not being "perfect." In fact, I'm learning the importance of how I'm not important...if that makes sense. However, I completely agree with the difficulty you expressed in saying that it's just plain hard to lay yourself out there, flaws exposed with every fault and failure visible.
Without saying much more about how I enjoyed reading this, I would just suggest a really good book (so far...I'm not finished yet). It's called The Discipline of Grace. If you haven't already read it, it's a good one, dealing with the same topic...just becoming less of yourself and more of Him.
By the way, I'll be praying that your writing your book goes well. You seem to have much talent as a writer.
