"Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him. With that, one of Jesus' companions (believed to be Peter) reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear. "Strength is not in the things you can do, but through Him it is in all of the things you can't do." Umm, Matt...that's awesome. It's strong and so true. It makes sense especially because I'm struggling with my pride and am able to understand the importance of not being "perfect." In fact, I'm learning the importance of how I'm not important...if that makes sense. However, I completely agree with the difficulty you expressed in saying that it's just plain hard to lay yourself out there, flaws exposed with every fault and failure visible.
Without saying much more about how I enjoyed reading this, I would just suggest a really good book (so far...I'm not finished yet). It's called The Discipline of Grace. If you haven't already read it, it's a good one, dealing with the same topic...just becoming less of yourself and more of Him.
By the way, I'll be praying that your writing your book goes well. You seem to have much talent as a writer.
