"Its call was strong. The god affected everyone, from mighty rulers to wretched paupers; from the cruel and selfish to the bleeding hearts, for its directive only required more, and its method slowly melted away other motivations--leaving their shell, so its adherents would not notice--until all was left was the aching empty need for more."
I especially like that part. Is this part of a story or is it the whole story, cause I am dying to read more.
Thank you so much! As of now, this is really just it. I'm the kind that takes things back out to play with again in a couple of months, but for this, first I'd need an actual plot. It was just a bit of angst about the possibility of ever attaining my pledge. Thank you again!
I really like it, and like scarlite I'd love to read more. :)
I know it was written about your pledge and the despair a writer may feel at ever reaching such a goal (I totally feel you there!) but I can also see a subtle jab at capitalism and greed. Very well done. :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment!
They seemed to share motivations, to me, in a lot of ways. I often find myself dismayed that I still buy into a system built on greed. Thank you again.
