Jin throws himself onto the bed first thing after his shower, snuggling his cheek against the soft, welcoming comforter before crawling underneath the covers. He tosses and turns a bit, trying to find that perfect position and finally settles-lying on his stomach, face down in a pillow that his right arm has curled around possessively, legs spread wide as if staking his claim on the entire mattress all for himself. He shuts his eyes, inhales the smell of the pillow (sometimes Kame's perfume, but more often than not Junno's shampoo) and his entire body becomes calm, allowing him to easily drift off into sleep.

Kame finds himself chuckling when he walks into the bedroom to find Jin sprawled out, his sleeping face a picture of peaceful innocence (far from what Jin is when he is awake-always busy, not quite so innocent). Despite being completely exhausted from his day, the momentary smile that Jin is able to bring to his face is enough to lighten his tired limbs and he stretches his arms high above his head, letting out a near silent yawn. Making his way over to the side of the bed farthest from the door, he slips beneath the covers and curls in on himself, making use of the space left from Jin's claim on the mattress. However, just as soon as Kame has adjusted to his place in the bed, Jin accommodates the other in his sleep, moving to spoon the younger man from behind, tossing a lazy arm over the other's slight hips and drawing him closer. Kame smiles one final time before his eyes flutter shut and sleep overtakes him.

Junno ambles to bed, far later than even Kame, kept up into the wee morning hours by the powerful lure of the billiard night life. It is something he loves-the haze of the smoke in the air, the snap of the cue ball sounding the opening of a new game, the mounting tension after each shot made, the sweet victory when that eight ball cleanly swooshes into its pocket-but perhaps more than that, he loves the opportunity that playing late into the night gives him to come home and witness the quiet sleep of Jin and Kame. The two are comfortably entwined together, backs facing the doorway where Junno stands and takes them in with a soft smile, before moving to join them. Climbing in behind Jin, his gangly legs brush against the backs of his calves and Jin turns his head, muttering a soft, "Junno…" in his half-sleep. Junno scoots in closer to Jin, resting his head on the pillow behind him, the tips of other's hair just barely tickling his nose. Satisfied, Junno's eyes close and lastly, he falls asleep.

*~*~*

Kame does not need an alarm to wake up as his internal clock has always been quite good about getting him up on time and he rises promptly at an hour Jin deems inappropriate, tugging Kame back to bed in his sleepy stupor. "I have to go…" the young man whispers, and that seems enough for Jin as he relents, letting Kame emerge from the warm bed and ready himself to face the day. Outfit already prepped and hanging neatly inside the closet (distressed jeans, t-shirt with a flannel overshirt, Yankees' baseball cap), he dresses, ignoring the vanity mirror altogether, knowing that the stylists will take care of him later. Having double checked his bag for the necessities-today's scripts, his PDA, bottle of water, chapstick-he swings it over his shoulder and heads for the door. He hesitates in the doorway for a moment though, glancing back at Junno resting his chin atop the crown of Jin's head, Jin curling in close to Junno's chest, before pushing himself out the door to face the dark of the early morning.

Jin's schedule varies the most amongst the three and sometimes there are mornings when he is awake to see Kame off for the day, but more often than not, hours have passed before Jin is finally forced awake by the blaring alarm on his cell phone. Jin winces at the loud sound and reaches over Junno to shut it off before the other can stir from his deep sleep. He struggles to drag himself out of bed, and instead succumbs to a short second round of sleep. A half-hour after the first alarm, Jin repeats the process with a second one and this time, manages to roll out of bed reluctantly. He hems and haws in the middle of the room, looking back and forth between the open closet and the open drawer full of clothes, before throwing on a pair of worn, comfy jeans and t-shirt with a knit hoodie. Just as he pulls his beanie on, his cell phone vibrates from the back pocket of his jeans and he realizes that it is probably the driver, calling to let Jin know that he is late yet again. In a flurry of movement, Jin grabs his bag and sunglasses and then runs out the door, hoping that their manager is in a good mood.

Junno blinks his bleary eyes at the red digital numbers on the large alarm clock-12:00 PM. He is not late for anything, but he figures it would be a waste of his day to stay in bed any longer, so he wakes up. Fluffing up the pillows and straightening out the covers, Junno makes the bed at a leisurely pace and then heads over to the closet. He stares at his endless supply of clothes-having the luxury of time to be picky-before settling on a t-shirt, his favorite sweater duster and a pair of skinny jeans. Once he has made himself a proper lunch of cereal and bread-it was not exactly breakfast anymore, but he always liked to eat breakfast-Junno returns to the bedroom for his bag and heads out, shutting the bedroom door behind him with a soft click. …only to return a minute later, having realized that he forgot his wallet. Hooking the chain to his jeans and pocketing the wallet safely, Junno leaves the room, fairly sure he will not be returning until Kame and Jin are home again.

*~*~*

"HAHAHAH! I WON AGAIN!"

"CHEATER!"

"I'm just naturally skilled; no cheating required."

"You rigged the courses! You know I hate Rainbow Road!"

"So! You know I don't like Bowser's Castle and you still picked it last time!"

Kame glanced up from his cutting board where he was thinly slicing cabbage just in time to catch Jin wielding his Wii Wheel in a rather violent manner and Junno hiding his face behind his own. "If you guys break those, I'm not buying new ones!" he warned from across the apartment.

The warning was enough to reel Jin in and he lowered the miniature steering wheel. "Fine," he grumbled, and then challenged, "One more race. Kame picks the track. Winner takes all."

"I don't want to be involved in your madness!"

Junno gave Jin an eager nod. "You're on!" He then turned around from where he was sitting on the living room floor, looked back at Kame standing at the counter island in the middle of the kitchen, and teased, "Too late, you're already involved!"

Kame rolled his eyes at them, returning his attention the chopping board where he set aside the cabbage next to the bowl of shredded cheese. "Fine then," he answered after a moment. "The Luigi Circuit."

Junno and Jin blinked at each other before they burst out laughing. "That's like the easiest track, Kame!" Jin snickered.

"That's the point," Kame insisted, setting his knife aside and pulling out a metal bowl. "That way, the course can't trip you up and it's a real race, just about speed."

Junno shook his head, biting his lip to hold back his impish grin. "That's the only track you've played, isn't it?"

"No, it's not!" Kame retorted, only to give in a moment later with a plaintive, "Yeah. ...but that's not my fault! You guys are always hogging it when we're home, so I never get to play!"

Jin jumped to his feet in protest. "We don't hog it! Besides, you can always play with us! It is a four-player game after all!"

"He doesn't like the Wii Wheel," Junno snitched teasingly. "I came home early one night after recording for KAT-TUN style and found him playing it by himself with the Game Cube controller."

"Is that all?" Jin sighed, shaking his head. "We'll teach you."

Kame hesitated, staring at the half-completed okonomiyaki ingredients spread out before him. "But what about your race?"

"We'll teach you first," Jin maintained.

"Yeah, and then all three of us can play and my victory will be that much sweeter!" Junno flashed a wide grin.

Jin rolled his eyes and shoved Junno lightly, affectionately. "Kame, just come play. You already lost the okonomiyaki competition, there is no point in going to the trouble to figure out what went wrong."

He had not even told them what he was making! "Oh fine," the youngest of the three finally conceded, untying his apron and tossing it onto the counter.

Kame padded into the living room and plopped himself on the floor between the two older boys. Junno handed over his wheel to Kame and Jin navigated through the menus, pulling up the straightforward Luigi Circuit.

"You're Donkey Kong," Junno explained and then quickly rattled off the buttons and their uses before the race started, making sure to position Kame's hands properly around the wheel. "And don't forget to steer."

"I always forget that," Kame muttered, pressing on 2 to accelerate forward as the race began.

Junno, always the intense one when it came to games of any kind, got really into the race despite being on the sidelines and ended up coaching Kame, screaming out appropriate directions when needed-"LEFT!!!...NO, MORE RIGHT!!!...DRIFT DRIFT!!!" Jin, on the other hand, always one for sound effects even when the video game itself provided some pretty good ones, provided a variety when throwing things-he seemed particularly fond of making a loud, "SQUISH!" every time Kame ran into some bananas Jin threw out to mess him up.

Though he did lose the first race, Kame insisted on one more race to get it right and with the sideline coaching of Junno helping him a bit, he managed to surprise Jin and beat him. Jin of course demanded a rematch and when Kame managed to easily beat him again, this time relying more on his own skill and less on Junno's effective coaching, both Jin and Junno went scrambling-Jin to find a harder course and Junno to find the third Wii Wheel so he could play as well.

Sitting back on his knees and watching the two consult one another over what course would be best next and how to win against the upstart MarioKart prodigy, Kame found a smile spreading across his lips. This is what he loved most about being here-in the middle, with Junno and Jin. The simple moments in which they could just be three boys squabbling over games, not idols with grand images to uphold and fans to constantly please. Different as they were, leading three seemingly unconnected lives, this life-this home-they had made for themselves was the easiest place to be. Open, bared, honest, they could just be with one another, no questions asked, always embraced and accepted.

Kame was pretty sure that was the best part.

the end.
