In which my brain is just plain scary

This morning I dreamed that I had two houseguests (one was an author from work, one was a classmate), and I had to take them to the airport. The author kept knocking on my bedroom door, trying to wake me up by saying things like "You don't have any cereal" and "It's okay, we can hit Starbucks on the way out," until finally he banged on the door and said, "Cynthia, really. We have, like, 17 minutes to get out of here if we're going to make our flight." So I got out of bed and we rushed to the airport and barely got there in time. And then I woke up, and it was way too light, and I looked at the alarm clock, which I had forgotten to set. And I had 17 minutes until I had to leave the apartment and still make it to work by nine.

But I made it, and I worked through lunch (actually worked, today) and then left at 4:15 to catch the 5:30 Order of the Phoenix, which I enjoyed quite a little bit.

I really appreciated the screenplay here. I thought it did a really graceful job of moving around or past the storylines they had to cut for time and the plot devices they needed to change to tighten and/or simple things up for the screen. Also, the Trio? Just keeps getting more wonderful. I love them!

Two favorite things: 1. The Harry/Cho kiss (yay for it being really long and ... involved) and the scene that immediately followed, as Harry tells Ron and Hermione about it. So much love. 2. Sirius (in spite of the the creepy pimp coat, which is less pimpy when it's in context). I loved the affection and connection between him and Harry. It played SO well.

Oh, hell, 3. Neville. Rocked so very hard. I just love him so much, he's such a brave little toaster. And, crap, 4. The Weasley twins. In fact, let's just call that Team Weasley, shall we? That shot? Of the four of them in a row in the Room of Requirement? Awesome. Also, loved how they played Ginny's crush on Harry. Utterly unspoken and unobserved by anyone but Ginny and the audience, and yet totally real.

All in all, very satisfying! Will go see it again with my sister and the kids when I get to California. They saw it today, too, but we'll have a second go, I think. Must remember not to mumble dirty things with the kids around.
