Since I officially went on vacation Thursday night I have:
* Written a short but tide-turning scene in my epic SPN fic of doom that (I hope) has pushed me past enough of my mental blocks that I can just write, already. As soon as I get some time, that is.
* Finished gift and grocery shopping.
* Sliced my little finger open on the knife I so carefully sharpened last week.
* Handled the accidental near gassing of the four mammals currently residing in my apartment with great aplomb. (Mom turned the stove to Low instead of Off, and then we went out for three hours. Yikes. All is well.)
* Seen one of the worst stage productions known to man. If any of you get the chance, do not see Meet Me in St. Louis on stage. Rent or buy the movie, which is cheesy, yes, but in that wonderful old-movie-musical way. The stage version? 12 new songs! Eleven of them really bad! There's also a segment called "The Halloween Ballet" that dramatizes Tootie's encounter with the nasty neighbor on Halloween; the choreographer's significant experience, as reflected in this "ballet," appears to have been teaching cheerleaders all the moves/steps in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. Needless to say, I laughed until I cried, got bopped on the head by Jenn because I was shaking the whole row of attached seats with my hysterical laughter, and eventually had to just NOT LOOK at the stage until it was over. OH. MY. GOD. SO. BAD.
* Created a masterpiece in FANDOM PANTS!! Thanks to
kimonkey7 for the virtual version she made me for my birthday, which directly inspired me. These pictures are crap because of the lighting, but please note that my block letters have serifs! DOOD. My stitching has a font. Please just skip over how clumsy that "k" is. It's a really hard letter to stitch, I found.
That's about it from here. Hope everyone's having a lovely holiday weekend.
