Have just arrived at the staging area (my sister's parents in law) after a week with absolutely no news--no radio, no tv, no papers, no internet. Good thing the water heater flooded when we tried to turn it on and had to call the vacationing in-laws, or we would have had no idea at all about the whole terror plot thing and the new airline restrictions, etc. We are now properly informed and have moved all liquids and cosmetics, etc. out of our carry-ons. Happily, we have a direct flight and don't stop in the U.K. this time, or else we'd have to carry only our dire essentials in a clear plastic bag. Yoinks.
I can tell the culture shock is going to be worse than usual this time.
And apparently the Doctor went and got himself a new suit, on top of it all. What has the world come to? I've briefly peeked at pics and though it's different and we fear change, they at least had the sense to stick with that delicious cut that looks so yummy on David Tennant. I'm sure I will adjust.
Speaking of Mr Tennant, I am now the proud, eager-to-be-home-and-rid-of-my-relatives-so-I-can-have-my-TV/computer-all-to-myself owner of Casanova and Blackpool.
Whoops: Dinner hunter-gathers have returned. I must away.
More Sunday or Monday. Miss you all. Wish me fast security checks and minimal scary airplane stuff.
